Garments
Created as a workwear-inspired "easy," shirt this garment sought to combine craft and work-focused elements of the midwest, ie quilting and variable weight canvasses with a broad, boxy, and comfortable silhouette that functions well as an outer garment while also being a perfect lounge top. The body of the garment is developed from 10 oz. canvas while the sleeves, collar, and quilting utilize a heavier 14 oz. canvas. The intention behind this was that the garment could function and drape well while also being heavier and more durable in the areas where the wearer requires further durability.
The primary details of the garment sought to focus on craft, the interior liner was built out of an interesting reclaimed and up-cycled Ralph Lauren top sheet with quilting details across the collar, yoke, and elbow pads. The collection's primary pattern created by the 377 Miles word-mark is machine embroidered onto the top facing of the collar.
Created as a contemporary iteration of baggy pleated trousers from the 90s. The fit was inspired by a pair of Ralph Lauren Andrew pants but with a single pleat and the inclusion of a gusset for increased breadth across the thigh. The waistband serves as its own belt with clasps at the center front and edge of the waistband underneath the two belt loops. There is a 1.5" turned cuff at the outseam to further enforce the inspired 90s trouser aesthetic. The garment was created from a vintage, reclaimed embroidered curtain.
Extended waistband to function as a belt with a button placket and clasp waistband. Two singular pleats across the garment front with a secondary material pocket liner and gusset.
Created as a craft-fusion of some of my favorite sportswear pieces. The scalloped hem and collar of a 3/4 sleeve Nike baseball jacket, the body of a Greg Norman Golf pullover, and the armhole sizing and pattern of the yeezy gap hoodie.
