His unique upbringing sparked an early interest in athletic graphics and ergonomic garments. In 2014, he began his design studies at the University of Cincinnati, majoring in Communications Design. A turning point came in 2016 when he interned at a design firm in Hamburg, Germany, exposing him to corporate design. Subsequent experience at Urban Outfitters in Philadelphia further shaped his design perspective. After working in textile merchandising in Chicago, Harry returned to Kent, Ohio, to pursue a degree in Fashion Design.
Harry Becker’s design philosophy is influenced by his family, particularly his mother’s nursing background and his twin brother’s teaching profession, instilling in him a human-centered approach to design. He also draws inspiration from his father’s entrepreneurial mindset. For Harry, fashion is more than self-expression; it’s a means to enhance people’s lives.
Inspired by designers like Junya Watanabe, Virgil Abloh, Dieter Rams, and Maison Martin Margiela, Harry challenges traditional luxury by emphasizing functionality and aesthetics. His garments, primarily made from natural fibers, undergo innovative treatments, seamlessly blending form and function.
Harry's pieces are intentionally designed, ensuring that each detail serves a purpose. His goal is to create clothing that looks good and feels suitable to wear. This approach results in visually appealing and highly functional designs, offering a fresh perspective in the luxury fashion world.
